Hello, I am Chiara
I work as a project manager. I am a parent. An expat living in Roma, Italy.
Several years ago I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Began
Moving to Italy wasn’t part of the master plan. Like many international moves, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt tougher than they needed to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, habits formed. We found places that fit us, met other families, and began building something that felt secure.
Why I Built FamilyLife Overseas
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or superficial tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site exists to bridge that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in Italy.
